How Old Is Your Sunscreen & Is It Still Protecting You?

You may be looking outside your blinds right now overjoyed by the signs of summer all around you! It’s time to put on that cute bathing suit and hit the beach!When you pack up your beach bag this summer, don’t forget to bring the sunscreen.If you have any leftover from years past, make sure you check the expiration date, it may be expired!Most sunscreens have a shelf life of 3 years, so if it’s older then that it’s time to toss it in the garbage.

One tube of sunscreen should only last the duration of one summer.In fact with the recommendation to apply every 2 hours (less if you’re fair skinned) a bottle of sunscreen should not last you a whole summer.One ounce should be used each time you apply, and with most sunscreens only having around four ounces, most likely you’ll have to buy more before the summer closes out.Make sure your sunscreen isn’t expired and avoid getting sunburned this summer!
